About

 Originally the site of a military base in the 18th and early 19th centuries, development of the area into a governmental precinct began in 1859, after Queen Victoria chose Bytown as the capital of the Province of Canada. Free guided tours are available everyday, you also get a chance to head up to the Peace Tower for an incredible view of the city.
